The Snow Hand of God . . . I Mean The Slow Hand of God

The average raindrop takes about two minutes to fall from the sky while the average snowflake takes 45 minutes.

So it is with God’s movements in our lives. We don’t like to be rained on. Rain ruins our day. It takes away our plans. Likewise, all the bad things in our life come quickly. They’re suddenly upon us and they bombard us. We did not expect or want them but they come in an instant and wreck havoc.

We love the snow. Snow is a blessing and brings much joy. It is a beautiful covering to the world. But like the snow, God‘s movements come very slow. The things we ask for, beg for, plead for, seem to take forever. We often give up waiting for God to answer our prayers. We’ve asked him so many times we become weary and we weep or become angry and scream. But God waits for all the stars to lineup in his plan to make the moves in our lives. We don’t know which stars those are or how many it takes.

Be patient. The snow will get here soon. Not as soon as we want, but it will get here. Keep getting up after you fall. Keep renewing your mind and your hope. The angel was sent to Daniel the moment he started praying, but for some reason that angel was detained in a fight and could not get to Daniel for 21 days. I’m not claiming to understand this, I don’t know why God took so long, or why he let the angel get hung up in a fight that Michael the archangel had to help him out of. But I do know that God seeming tartiness is a common confession of the entire church and all of biblical history. It’s not going to be different for us. Be patient. You are highly esteemed and much loved.
