Enjoying the series so far! Hoping we can move past the definition issue soon…everyone seems to be on just about the same page. I understand the importance of defining terms first though 🙂
I sympathize with Tim’s comment about how a continuum may not always be the best model since it seems to point to “balance”…and “balance” can lead to compromise. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150152553630584
But I also understand that Michael mainly keeps framing the issue in that way to help listeners realize none of you all are siding with any of the great extremes on either end of the “spectrum.”
Keep it up everyone! This should be challenging and humbling for anyone wrestling with the issue themselves.
Separating worship style (hand raising, dancing, etc) out from the “so called” sign gifts of tongues, healing, and prophecy was really helpful for me. I’m enjoying the series. I guess my main fear is that the series may be brought to a conclusion before some of the aspects that I’m waiting for are addressed. I hope it continues long enough, and you look at different aspects as deeply as you have looked at basic definitions.
