I’ve listened to the first two episodes and hoping that it will pick up. It would be more revealing if you had someone who had a Roman Catholic background to be in a better position to articulate their “system” from an experiential view. I spent 20 years in it, CCD and an altar boy. I have never looked back after hearing and believing the biblical Gospel. If the Gospel is fundamentally different, and it is, then the similarities do not matter. I would not say that all Catholics are lost but it is the exception that one is saved. I am sensing an attitude that does not grasp the importance for Catholics to flee a works based salvation. Rome has not changed her theology since the Reformation. Her only change has been cosmetic. Looking forward to hearing more. In my 20 years in the system I never heard the Gospel. What could be more fundamental than that?
I’m looking forward to this. I think you guys will be fair minded, and it should be beneficial to everyone.
I humbly submit 2 suggestions for topics to include. (:
–I certainly agree about the authority issue being at the root of all others. But behind even that is the nature of divine revelation itself, and how that revelation is transmitted down through the generations. There are fundamental differences there which explain a lot when other topics, like authority, are discussed.
–An especially timely topic would be the reasons behind the Catholic view of issues like contraception, since its been in the news so much lately, and how Evangelicals view those issues and why. Greater understanding and respect are always good, because together we are the Christian voice in society.
