Over the last few years I have slowly switched from the New American Standard Version (NAS) to the English Standard Version (ESV). Now that the ESV Study Bible is out, I could not more highly recommend it.

My wife is going to hate you, since I am a Bible-collecting addict! Another $30 or so donated to my local Christian book store!
I will throw in my recommendation for the Holman Standard.
I like the ESV too. Yet for some odd reason I can’t put my finger on, I found this ad (or “presentation”) to be more creepy than anything else.
One note: the Study Bible isn’t out yet.
From http://www.esvstudybible.org/
“The publication date for the ESV Study Bible is Wednesday, October 15, 2008.”
Patton must be part of that special elect who have been given advanced copies by Crossway to promote to us who must wait two long months…
Michael I could not more highly recommend it.
So how do you get to peruse it early? It’s on my wishlist but I thought it wasn’t available for a few months. I was interested for several reasons including the in-text maps and I heard that Grudem was an editor.
And now our dollar is dropping so I will have to lay out even more cash! Perhaps I should’ve pre-ordered.
Man…I am so excited about this bible. I pre-ordered it back in April and it won’t ship until October. Talk about a long wait! But after reading all the endorsements from people I trust, I couldn’t help but go ahead and order it. Can’t wait till October!!!!
