You give the derivation of only half of theology. In my opinion the second half is critical. The -logy part of theology is defined by Random House as “1.
a combining form used inthe names of sciences or bodies of knowledge:paleontology; theology.” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/-logy
I believe theology is as much a science as biology, geology, cosmology, etc. If looks at the original meaning
of the term science it was originally used as meaning knowledge on a subject. (From “logos”, the word, on God, life, earth, etc.)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science
I believe that one of the greatest mistakes Christians have made is the acceptance of the usage of the term science to mean only the area of natural science. Science truly is all knowledge. The study of God is just as valid a science as the physical universe.
Is the Bible a science book? Sure it is: and sometimes it even deals with biology and geology as well as theology.
